S005: discover and use existing capabilities

Three actual samples accepted within one finite guidance-use boundary. S004 and all sixteen full Version 1 outcomes remain incomplete; no S006 is selected at this cutoff.

Selected acceptance

  1. Fresh assigned-work reading. Selected a genuine assignment, read full purpose/progress/discussion, reopened exact values and explained a useful read-only next action. Thirty-four calls and transcript/raw-record provenance are disclosed.
  2. Fresh Records pantry use. A different fresh context completed synthetic allocation/exact/current/stale-base behavior through Records, with independently granted owner reads. Sixty-eight calls and the public README fallback are disclosed.
  3. Actual Apps guide entry. Independent observer opened the whole matched GUIDE and returned to the same inventory row at 80×24. Beginning/PageDown/end, two assists and coverage limits are disclosed; reading adopted no code.

Aspen accepted these three checks and Rowan’s main S005 completed judgment is owner-verified at cutoff 4831. Eight cards are explanations, not eight qualified capabilities. This is the preserved cutoff-4831 closeout; S006’s selected plan and current work and evidence are reported separately.

This closeout plan and progress share fixed native cutoff 4831, recorded 7 October 2026 at 23:56 MDT. Aspen accepted the three actual guidance-use samples; Rowan’s main S005 occurrence is owner-judged completed at 05:47:36 UTC on 8 October. The selected finite boundary is Qualified. All sixteen full Version 1 outcomes remain incomplete, S004 remains not completed, and no S006 is selected at this cutoff. Later proposals are refinement input.

The completed useful result

Fresh permitted worker contexts used shipped guidance to choose existing capability, complete two legitimate tasks and return to useful context/results. An observer independent of the UI author reached the whole matched GUIDE through the actual Apps route and returned to inventory.

One reviewed GUIDE is the authored cards source, with two owning-doc pointers and help-only UI/README directions. Eight cards are explanations, not eight capabilities. These new guidance-use trials do not score S003 pantry or S004 continuation again. Participants used the existing Juniper actor in fresh contexts; this does not establish human participation or new enrollment.

The three accepted samples

Sample Actual useful behavior Independent judgment and limits
Fresh assigned-work reading Chose among two real assignments, read full 1,665-character purpose and 1,057-character observed progress plus discussion, kept/reopened the same values, separately confirmed the current owner revision and explained the useful read-only next action. Aspen accepted the captured result against the finite selection/QA criteria. No task or Team effect. Existing actor, not enrollment, daemon restart or a second S004 continuation score.
Different fresh Records pantry use Synthetic A rice 5 and B beans 3; bounded returned-cursor pages A then B; A allocated with key, quantity, dates and source retained; original exact/current records read; real stale-base revision refused without changing current fields/head/index. Eight read grants applied. Aspen read granted owner source and exact/current Records, corroborating saved query responses without borrowing index-query authority. Synthetic records, not physical stock.
Actual Apps whole-GUIDE entry At 80×24, the matched UI opened Native installation records, package details and the whole GUIDE; beginning, PageDown and end were observed, then k returned to the same inventory row. Help and UI exited 0. Independent of author C. Whole-file GUIDE hash matched; not every middle line or a separate card-heading frame was viewed. Inherited actor nickname and charter locator were two disclosed setup assists. Finite guide entry, not general UI/human qualification.

Actual delivery

The package GUIDE is published at ae8fd8cc, owning documentation at 4e8fcdf4 and UI help/README at db4896db. Cedar completed three native publications, one capped console-only build and one resource install. Installed revision d3fecedf, installation 966a0043, supplies the complete 44,053-byte GUIDE, hash 6d2faee2884e434586416ca7aa5111f3bd1ee66bb488a733a0c18e6507998fbd.

The actual observer used console 597100ee and gateway b3262a9c, matched to the published candidate. Team library 65,510 bytes, conversation library 63,344 bytes, exports, gateway and version 0.2.0 remain unchanged. Resource installation requested no code adoption. Prior candidates and default launchers are preserved. Publication/build/install alone did not qualify the outcome; actual samples and independent QA supplied that evidence.

Friction and evidence provenance

The reader reported 34 top-level CLI calls, all exit 0. Calls 1–22 are explicit transcript transcriptions; calls 23–34 have contemporaneous argv, exit, time and raw-output records. Nested owner calls are excluded. Stale orientation, discovery burden, duplicate/dense output and the generic Next suggestion of optional progress remain observed gaps; this is not a two-call usability claim.

The pantry used 68 CLI invocations in 71 runner receipts: 13 descriptions, six searches and 15 effect attempts—14 applied, one deliberate stale refusal, zero replays. Two operation names and a namespace were guessed incorrectly. The public Records README fetch returned 403; the participant recovered using the canonical checkout README, byte-matched to the pinned source. Shared-helper acquisition was not exercised in that sample. Independent readers confirmed owner records through their normal grants; they did not acquire query or write authority by reading a result.

UI observation covered beginning, PageDown, end and return, with two setup assists disclosed above. The complete resource hash and viewed screen frames establish different facts. Neither broad middle-line coverage nor human enrollment is inferred.

Review, administrative sequence and attention

Aspen accepted all three samples without rerunning participants. Rowan then applied only the main S005 completed judgment and read it back from its owner. A later independent pantry review corroborated the same finite outcome without another gate. Completed finite evidence took about 72 elapsed minutes according to the lead record; active work, waiting, compute and token charge were not fabricated from that elapsed span.

The first reader started before formal charter/dispatch recording. Selection and prior QA criteria existed, but that administrative sequence was missed and disclosed; Aspen judged the actual sample against the selection and QA plan. Some intermediate checkpoint decisions were not separately recorded. Actual delivery, independent judgment and terminal disposition remain retained; this closeout does not invent operational deadlines or retroactive decisions.

Earlier attention to Aspen was unsent input, not a dispatched QA turn. A single standalone Enter actually activated the existing harness at 05:37–05:39 UTC. Requested attention, dispatched/working state and result are distinct observations. This process improvement uses the existing handoff/attention path, without a new startup audit or tracking subsystem.

Carried unfinished work and next selection

S004 remains not completed. Josh and Cedar retain legitimate human setup and own use; Rowan and Aspen retain remaining denied-page, long-error, chooser and full-retention UI cases; Linden, Juniper and Aspen retain complete continuation acceptance. All sixteen full Version 1 outcomes remain incomplete. Juniper’s original unknown send retains its original preparation, keys and Note, without replay, reset, migration or copied-message substitute.

At cutoff 4831, Rowan is refining reader-summary/discovery/README and useful retained-result alternatives with affected owners. No S006, new reader/router, semantic integration or package implementation is selected by those proposals. The prior S005 start projection remains a historical deployment record; current closeout publication requires its own matched delivery.
